This clothbound hardcover has moderate rubbing to exterior with some white and brown smudging, moderate wear to corners, a small bump to the bottom edge of back cover; textblock and pages have typical yellowing associated with age. Spine is somewhat cocked to the right, though binding is secure; moderately cracked along page 303. Front endpages have fingerprint smudges though they add extra character, and pages have remnants of water damage along edges and along binding, though they blend into the aesthetic of pages; page 63 has a three inch side tear.Otherwise this book is in very good condition. Pages are clean, clear and bright, presentable, with sturdy binding and a decent spine; with legible gilt. A handsome copy!

Spine is significantly cracked along the index, and moderately cracked along page 445. Paste-down endpaper and front title page have been stamped by a former owner with a purple bookplate for "assistant signal supervisor"; page 323 has a diagonal tear going straight across, and has been previously repaired with book tape at top/bottom of page. Maps are in very good condition with the exception of 1918 supplemental pull out map has light foxing and light edgewear .Otherwise this book is in very good condition. Pages are clean, clear and bright, presentable, with sturdy binding and a decent spine; with legible gilt. A handsome copy!
