No Binding. Condition: Good. This soft-ground etching is typical of Simpson's output documenting scenes in rural Scotland. It is titled and signed in graphite in the lower margin: "Somme Hayboat Jackson Simpson". There is also an initialled blindstamp: "JS". Henry Jackson Simpson (1893-1963) was born in Aberdeen and studied at Gray's School of Art. He painted and etched Scottish landscapes and hunting and fishing subjects. Platemark size: 4 3/4" x 7 1/2". Printed on a 9" x 11" sheet of wove paper. Condition: Lightly toned at mat window, hinging tape on verso. Generally good condition. Signed by Illustrator(s).
