    No Binding. Condition: Very Good. Collection of three legal briefs pertaining to a court case involving the General Creditors of the Golden Fleece Sheep Company and the Fidelity Trust Company. The legal briefs are carbon typescripts in black ink on white paper and affixed to light blue paper backings with metal fasteners at top. One of the briefs is divided into two gatherings. 9" x 14." Twenty-five pages between the three documents. Each legal brief is clean and intact overall except for a few fold lines and wrinkles, occasional small stains (including rust marks), light age toning, and some chipping and closed tears on the backings. Each legal brief and the entire collection are Very Good. The Golden Fleece Sheep Company operated a sheep business in Nevada during c. 1900s-1920s. The company borrowed $1,000,000 from the Fidelity Trust Company of San Francisco but eventually fell into receivership. When the receiver began to sell off assets in the mid-1920s, the Golden Fleece Sheep Company's General Creditors sued the Fidelity Trust Company in order to get money from the sale of those assets. Attorneys for the General Creditors were Kenneth Lloyd Williams and Jack Monterief Sinclair. Attorneys for Fidelity were Norris J. Burke and Nathan Newby, Jr. Williams and Sinclair have signed in black ink. Burke has a carbon signature. There is no signature by Newby.
