Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. Offering this uncommon signed limited edition association copy of A Song of Years in Florida , by Stephen Cochran Singleton. Miami: The Miami Post Publishing Company, n.d., circa 1950. Hardcover, 12/250. Features a lengthy, highly personal, and witty two-part presentation inscription on the limitation page "To the Archers." Includes a clever idiomatic pun on their name regarding "drawing the longbow of statement" alongside a sharp, anti-commercialist sentiment about giving gifts to friends outside of the Christmas season. Initialed "SCS" by the author. And then signed below in full "Stephen C. Singleton" and marked "12 of a limited edition of 250 copies." Here is the full inscription: "To the Archers who seldom draw the longbow of statement and who often hit the mark! Why wait for Christmas when the pleasure is to be had for the taking any old day? I wait for no merchant to tell me it is time to remember friends - like an expensive alarm clock. SCS" Overall condition is very good. Cover has mild bumping and wear with a small amount of loss to the spine ends. Pages are clean and crisp with light paperclip marks at the top of a several pages in the middle. Binding remains secure. Stephen Cochran Singleton (1857-1952) was an American poet, newspaper editor and writer. He is remembered for chronicling the 1926 Miami hurricane and was well-regarded as a regional poet. He was also deeply involved in early conservation efforts to protect Florida's native ecosystems and indigenous cultures.
