He was educated at Harrow and Cambridge and became interested in evangelistic work while in Cambridge and London. He studied Arabic and the Quran, whilst also being an athlete. He was described as a world cycling champion in 1878.This work is an account of his life, written by Robert Sinker, librarian of Trinity College, Cambridge. In publisher's original red cloth binding.
