Sinramm. Compilation of celebratory quotes toasting the good things of earth. Good cheer is the theme; omitted are the "three great mysteries, Life, Sleep, and Death." Contents include toasts to the human family, joys & blessings, high days & holidays, seasons & months, with a collection of Odd Old English toasts to the rear. A humorous lifting of the glass to Adam and Eve (or to the lot of descendent men) : "Here's to the Garden of Eden/Which Adam was always a-weedin'/Till Eve by mistake/Got bit by the snake/Who on the ripe pippins was feedin'/Then a longing it seemed to posses her/For clothing sufficient to dress her/And ever since then/It's been up to us men/To pay for her dresses --- God bless her", and an old English toast. "May fair clothes always cover fair hearts", and more somber, "Dress has a moral effect on the conduct of mankind" (Sir John Barrington).
