The letter to W Monckton with regards to a reference Dr Cameron. A rather witty ending to the letter with regards to a Sanitary Inspector. Sir Herbert Eustace Maxwell, 7th Baronet, 1845-1937 was a Scottish novelist, essayist, artist, antiquarian, horticulturalist, prominent salmon angler and author of books on angling and Conservative politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1880 to 1906. Grandfather of the writer Gavin Maxwell who wrote the 'Ring of Bright Water'. Size of letter is 230mm x 180mm. Condition is good. Light folding creases. Rear of letter has gum marks.
