A historical study of illnesses, disease terminology and medical references in the Bible, including leprosy, plague, ophthalmic disease and blindness, diseases associated with Job, Herod, Hezekiah and Jeroboam, old age, and the physical cause of the death of Christ. Condition: Good. Boards show age-related rubbing, bumping and wear, especially to corners and spine ends. Some fraying/wear visible at the head and foot of the spine. Spine title remains legible. Pages are intact and very clear/readable, with age-toning and some foxing/spotting. Binding is intact but has some cracking (see photos). A collectible original 1887 copy for readers interested in Victorian biblical studies, religious history, historical medicine, medical humanities, antiquarian theology, or nineteenth-century Christian reference works.
