The last eight volumes of the esteemed Oxford History of England, with a selection of Britain's greatest 20th century historians delving into modern English history. These particular volumes span modern English history, from 1558-1945. Watson is a 1985 reprint. Black, Clark, Davies, Williams and Woodward are 1985 reprints of the second edition. Taylor is a 1986 reprint, while Ensor is a 1988 reprint. In the publisher's original cloth, in the original unclipped dust wrappers. This included a debate on what constituted 'English History', whether to involve other nations in the United Kingdom or not.
