Spine is creased with straight edges. Text block is straight. Binding is firm. 226p. Personalized autograph can be found on half title page in black and green ink. Otherwise interior is completely unmarked with thick pages. Gutter on pages 46 and 47 is broken but remains attached.

Softcover. Condition: Very Good. First edition. 154pp. Blue stapled wrappers. Illustrated by the author. Wrappers foxed and creased close to the spine, very good. Essays and ramblings about Florida by the folk artist, folk historian and author of a newspaper column titled "Cracker Crumbs" printed in the Fort Myers News-Press for forty years. One column is laid in. Smith's (1896-1993) folk art paintings of Southern scenes have sold at auction. Smith was born in Georgia, moved to Florida when he was fifteen and had been awarded the state's Folk Heritage Award for Outstanding Contributions to Florida's Folklife. He was featured on Charles Kuralt's CBS series "On the Road" and the Smithsonian invited him to share his stories at the U.S. bicentennial celebration. Signed in red by the author inside the front cover.
