Clearly a working/reference copy only of this quite scarce work, one of Elliot Smith's most ambitious expositions of his diffusionist thesis.

There is a loose cutting from the Times dated Jan 14, 1927, highlighting the possible Asiatic influence on Mayan art. *** CONTENTS: The author (1871-1937) was a leading proponent of the hyper-diffusionist view of prehistory, that is that cultural innovation happened only once and it was then spread geographically. Hence he was able to show Indian influence in the art of the Mayans in Central America. Size: 260x195mm.
