By removing these interpolated passages, the author argues that we can restore the Iliad to its original form, a work comprised of 45 sections of 300 verses with major divisions after 18 and 30 sections. The author contends that this discovery has significant implications for our understanding of the poem's composition, its transmission through oral tradition, and the role of interpolation in the development of ancient Greek literature.
