Sneddon was a journeyman Scottish author who contributed to numerous pulp magazines of the times, including *Argosy*, *Strange Tales*, *Famous Fantastic Mysteries*, and *Snappy Stories*, among others. The stories here tell of a crook who murders a shopkeeper and his family; a true crime tale of the triple murder aboard the barquentine *Herbert Fuller*; and an older woman who disappears after taking on young male lover.
