Nando Snozzi (*1951)is a well-known artist from Bellinzona active for more than thirty years in the field of painting and theatrical performance. His painting have always been strong, colourful, capable of bringing us back to a surreal dimension, which evokes the most hidden sensations. On this occasion the face is the protagonist, projected in the foreground, looming over the observer. Snozzi draws faces in which one has the impression that stories are written not only of the single individual, but of humanity as a whole. The excited and disorganized language, the broken lines, the deformed features, the chromatic highlights, are all elements that denounce the artist's profound emotional participation. The observer can in fact understand that Snozzi gave autonomous life to these images, leaving visible traces of his laborious intervention, of the effort of creation. The "Visidivisi"("divided faces" or "faces of faces") require an ability to investigate which often finds tenacious opposition in the delicate and sometimes controversial relationship that each of us has with our own image. These faces challenge the perimeter of the canvas and impose themselves in their physicality, projecting wrinkles and imperfections into the foreground. Nando Snozzi's faces therefore shout out their authenticity through the multifaceted and erotic expressiveness of painting, fascinating and embracing the viewer in their splendid and ferocious vortex.
