Hirschman is also a painter and collagist, and has translated over two dozen books from German, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Albanian, and Greek. This is the story of Robert Humphrey, British poet, who came into a chance meeting with Cohen in King David Street in Jerusalem in 1973. He spotted Cohen in the crowd and proceeded to follow him. Finally, Cohen wised up to this young man who was stalking him and typical for Leonard, he stopped and asked him why and then if he wants to have lunch with him.
