Exemplar com desgastes na encadernação, em especial na coifa, nas charneiras e nos cantos, com pequenas manchas à cabeça das 80 primeiras páginas e no festo das páginas finais, assim como pequenos furos de traça no junto ao festo das 18 primeiras páginas. Obra rara e importante para o estudo e análise dos Comentários às Ordenações do Reino de Portugal, da autoria de Manuel Álvares Pegas, que é uma das mais vastas e completas explicações do direito do Antigo Regime, codificado nas Ordenações do Reino. Este primeiro volume compreende os registos relativos aos termos Abbas a Futura, que estão incluidos nos 14 volumes dos Comentários às Ordenações do Reino de Portugal de Manuel Álvares Pegas. Foram publicados mais dois volumes em 1741 e 1742. Inclui definições tanto em latim como em português. As páginas preliminares contêm a dedicatória a Santa Catarina, o prólogo aos leitores, poesias em latim em louvor do autor e da obra; as licenças, datadas de 12 de Maio de 1739 a 13 de Agosto de 1740, com aprovações de Frei Bernardo do Desterro e de Filipe de Abranches Castelo Branco. Manuel Álvares Solano do Vale (Elvas, 1700 - Lisboa, 1763) Formado em Direito Civil na Universidade de Coimbra, em 8 de Junho de 1722, e Advogado em Coimbra, até 1730 e em Lisboa desde esse ano. Teve por algum tempo, de 1740 a 1755, uma oficina tipográfica, na Rua da Achada, atrás da Igreja de São Cristóvão, onde se imprimiram vários livros clandestinos, sem as licenças necessárias, o que levou a uma intervenção da Inquisição, mas Solano do Vale com o seu prestígio e habilidade de advogado, conseguiu não ser processado ao contrário de outros livreiros.
