    In oblungo (35x24,5 cm); 70 c. di tav. Legatura coeva in piena tela rossa con grande scritta "Solatium" impressa in oro al piatto anteriore. Qualche macchiolina ai piatti e traccia di sporco. Una piccola mancanza all'angolo basso bianco di una tavola, ininfluente. Nel complesso esemplare in buone-ottime condizioni di conservazione. In numerose tavole è presente, chiosato da mano coeva in matita, il nome del personaggio ritratto. Importante raccolta di caricature di personaggi politici, letterati, imprenditori e militari per lo più campani, descritti dalla matita del celebre caricaturista italiano Mario Buonsolazzi (1859 1933). Buonsolazzi collaborò con alcune delle più importanti riviste satiriche dell'epoca come il ""Don Chisciotte" settimanale napoletano fondato da Vincenzo Di Napoli-Vita, con il "Masto Rafaele", il "Caporal Terribile" dove le sue caricature affiancano per anni quelle di Melchiorre Delfico o il "Monsignor Perrelli" diretto da Leonardo Fontana. In particolare il "Don Chisciotte", in ogni numero, dedica 4 pagine centrali alle sue caricature. Questa presentata, che contiene oltre a due frontespizi, 68 magnifiche caricature a colori, è una delle raccolte più corpose di tavole caricaturali di Solatium (a parte una tavola che ritrae Olga Ossani opera di Enrico Lionne, pseudonimo di Enrico della Leonessa, Napoli 1865 1921, collaboratore del "Capitan Fracassa" e "Don Chisciotte"). I personaggi appartenenti alla nobiltà presentano a fianco della figura anche lo stemma di famiglia, alcune tavole sono accompagnate da un sottotitolo ironico. Fra i ritratti: Ermete Novelli, Grimaldi, Colonna, Nardò, Chiaia, Cotteau, Duca di Bruzzano, Pignatelli, Viterbo, Pavoncelli, Fedrigo Pignatelli, Alfonso Ruffo Scoletta, Mazzacorati, Belardi, Spinosa ecc. ecc. Molto raro.
