Eugène Soleau (geb. 1853), membre de Chambre de Commerce & Vice-Président de la Réunion des Fabricants de Bronze (Vereinigung der Bronzefabrikanten) Mitglied der Handelskammer) stellte u.a. Bronzefiguren von Pradier und Chéret her; 1897 fand der erste Kongress der AIPPI (Association Internationale pour la Protection de la Propriété Intellectuelle =Internationale Vereinigung für den Schutz des Geistigen Eigentums) in Wien statt; John Georg Hardy der Sohn von John Hardy, dem Erfinder der Hardy-Vakuumbremse, dessen Arbeit an der Bremse er fortsetzte, erhielt 1878 bei der Weltausstellung in Paris eine Goldmedaille für seine Innovation. 1886 trat J. G. Hardy als Partner in das "Erste Privilegienbureau" in Österreich in der Wiener Riemergasse ein, das u.a. Thomas Alva Edison, Henry Bessemer und George M. Pullmann in Patentangelegenheiten vertrat. Es wurde 1851 von Frederick Paget, Bruder von Sir James Paget, dem Leibarzt Königin Victorias, gegründet. Bald traten auch sein Sohn, Charles Octavius Paget, und Julius Moeller in die Firma ein. Seit dem Österreichischen Patentgesetz von 1897 mußte jeder Patentanwalt vor eine Prüfungskommission, der J. G. Hardy von Anfang an angehörte; die Tafeln stellen Originale und Kopien von Bronzefiguren dar, deretwegen es zu Gerichtsverfahren gekommen war. Original-Halblederband mit Rückenvergoldung.
