The top corners of the pages are creased and there is a hint of foxing to a few pages. Very good. Together with a 10 page review clipped from American Artist Magazine, with an article by Fridolf Johnson writing under the name "Lester Hanson" titled "The Drawings of Nicholas Solovioff".Also 2 checks from Fridolf Johnson's wife, Heidi Lennsen Johnson, both endorsed and thus signed by Nicholas Solovioff are enclosed. These were probably sent to the artist as payment for art work.The American artist Nicholas Solovioff (1927-1994) was a prolific illustrator. Among his work are cover illustrations for "The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction", "Fortune", "Sports Illustrated", "Horizon", the "Smithsonian Institution" and "Readers Digest". Specializing in illustrations of architecture, science, nature and technology, Solovioff illustrated some of the "Time-Life" series of books. Solovioff taught at the Fogg Museum of Art and the Parson School of Design. He served in the army during WWII and was later a combat artist for the United States Marine Corps in Vietnam. Solovioff was artist in residence for the Port Authority of New York.
