First Thus. 1st or early issue of this compilation of beautiful and clear b/w photos of the Canadian Rockies by the chief photographer of the Canadian Pacific Railroad in its early history. Oblong cord-tied wraps with silver printing on cover. On the cover is one photo, Twin Falls in Yoho. It is somewhat compromised with a hair-thin diagonal line and some smaller lines and a small cut, closed. This copy very good with one corner crease stabilized archivally and minor split to the head and toe of the backstrip. This is one of the scarcer early CPR view books of the Rockies.

Two circa 1890 Quebec City albumen photographs (7.25 x 9.5 and 4.5 x 7.5 inches wide) mounted recto/verso onto a 9 x 11.25 inch wide piece of gilt-edged card stock. One view is credited to Wm. Notman & Son and titled in negative "2335 - Little Champlain Street, Quebec." The other is uncredited and is titled in negative "383 - The Ice-Bridge." - offering a frozen waterfront view of the west side entrance to Little Champlain Street, whilst a horse and sleigh await the photographer on the frozen "Ice-Bridge" river. In the ice-bridge photo, the sign of the Richelieu & Ontario Navigation Company can be seen on their dockside building adjacent to the stone building that now houses the Canadian Coast Guard. Photos w. small scratches and minor fading near edges, card mount w. spotting and a note in pencil "St. Lawrence Quebec" Two evocative and early images, both offering a great snapshot view of 19th century life on the lower waterfront area of Quebec City's Little Champlain Street, or Rue du Petit-Champlain in French.
