Hardback narrow octavo, no jacket, good plus condition, papered colour pictorial board covers (corners worn), recased with new black cloth spine & endpapers, black & white vignettes, adverts, pages lightly toned, some edgewear, non-author written dedication inside front cover. 220 pp. The rarest and first book by Australian novelist for young adults Ethel Turner, consisting of a miscellany of verse and prose. Some of the material was previously published in the âTown and Country Journal'. (No date, but 1900, Trove. Book adverts at rear. This is not the first edition, but the rarer later variant edition of the same year, which has some poems omitted, and replaced by mock South African [Boer] War reports inserted, on pp. 67 / 68, 115 / 116, 161 / 162 and 221. Written dedication reads: 'To Betty, with love from Aunty Vall and Uncle Tom Boyd, June 1919'.).
