A la imagen la acompaña un texto conuna dedicatoria en latín dirigida a Claudia de Médici, quien fue Archiduquesa de Austria y Condesa del Tirol. El autor de la dedicatoria es Andreas Spangler, quien se presenta con una fórmula de cortesía común en la época ("dedica y consagra humildemente"). Título completo: "Serenissima princeps ac domina, domina claudia medicea, ex magnis hetruriae ducibus nata archiducissa austriae, ducissa burgundiae, comitissa tyrolis, etc. eidem serenissimae celsitudini humilime dicat, consecrat andreas spangler.".
