The text of each volume is wholly unmarked, pristine -- no owner's signature(s), marks, notes, or highlighting of any kind -- and the red cloth binding with gilt lettering of each volume is remarkably bright and fresh in appearance, though the brilliance of the spines varies (see scan), due to variable sunning. These are NOT ex-library copies, having issued from the personal library of a scholar whose work was focused on the early history of the international peace movement.
