unbound. Scarce inscribed signed photograph, 8" x 10", black and white, a shoulder-up image of Speaks dressed in a suit, inscribed to his friend and performing rights society pioneer H.C. Branch: "Sincerely Yours, Oley Speaks, 1930." Ironically, Speaks served as Director of ASCAP from 1924 - 1943. One minuscule chip at the top left hand margin; otherwise fine condition. American tin-pan-alley composer and songwriter credited with over 250 compositions including the standards "On the Road to Mandalay," "Sylvia," and "Morning." His songs were recorded by Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, as well as by Barbra Streisand and Peggy Lee.
