A note acknowledging receipt of the scripts "It's on the House" and "Judy Takes a Punch".One of the more dramatic incidents of Spooner's career occurred in 1913 [as reported in the New York Times of December 13 under the headline "Arrest of Actress Stops a Vice Play / Cecil Spooner Rides to Night Court in Patrol Wagon--Manager a Prisoner, Too"] when she was arrested, along with the manager of her theatre, as she was about to go onstage. The play, a dramatization of Reginald Wright Kaufmann's "The House of Bondage" was about white slavery and had drawn complaints of indecency. The audience protested vociferously, many of them following her to the police station. She was paroled into the custody of her counsel.A scarce autograph.
