1986 Long Beach, 1st English edn, 144pp, 64 photos, endpaper maps, ltd to 500 numbered copies. This is the translation of Hoyos-Sprinzenstein's account of his 1911 hunting expedition into Central Asia. Count Hoyos-Sprinzenstein hunted extensively for Altai argali and ibex in Mongolia and China. He shot about as many sheep as any early hunter (he obtained close to three dozen sheep and ibex!). Among his trophies were some of the biggest heads obtained to that date. Predominately sheep and ibex but also snow leopard and wapiti (maral). Fine in near fine slipcase. Since the slipcases of this book were paper covered it is very hard to find a fine slipcase.
