Hardcover. Condition: Fair. No Jacket. Fair, early edition book in original boards which appear to have been reinforced by contact paper on the spine and corners. Boards and spine are heavily soiled. Stains and foxing on paste-downs. Previous owner's name on half-title page. The tiitle page, end-papers, frontispiece facing title page, and illustration on page 123 of Genealogy of the Hickman Family are missing, hence the "fair" condition. Of the four remaining illustrations, three are drawn by William Espin and illustrated by J. Storer (2) and Rob Pollard; the fourth is by Lowry. The first 315 pages are dedicated to Gainsburgh, the remains 50 to Stow, followed by a short clarifying memorandum, five and a half pages of Subscribers' Names and a half page ad. Only the upper page edges are trimmed, all edges are age- and soil-darkened and with foxing. The first two pages in the Stow section are unopened. Two instances of margin notes, one each in pencil and ink. Some margin foxing within the text, more so on illustrations, but text is internally clean in general. Please use close-up options for best inspection and in support of condition descriptions. Additional photos available at your request. International sales to all countries other than the UK and Canada will require use of an alternative shipping company which will result in higher than the stated shipping costs. A signature upon receipt may also be required.
