Tor Staver was a young Norwegian graduate student with whom Bohm worked while at Princeton. Together, they proposed a density fluctuation approach, treating ions and electrons as a set of â??coupled' plasmas. In the treatment of electronic screening of the long-wave-length ionic motions in a classical plasma, Bohm and Staver's technique would allow them to obtain a simple dispersion relation.
