Mencken, J. Thorne Smith, Ring Laudner, Lewis Mumford, ConradAiken, among others. Blue textured cloth covered boards with blind-stamped double narrow borders around edges and publisher's logo blind-stamped in the center of front board panel. Gilt lettering and graphics stamped on spine. Spine, upper extremities and edges at head and tail of board spine are sunned. Head and tail of board spine both have several vertical crimps and scuffs. External page edges are age-toned. Faint pencil erasure marks in upper corners of front pastedown and FFEP. No internal marks or tears. Text block is sound. Blue paper dust jacket is sunned in general, more so on fore-edge folds and heavy on spine. Several small stains on spine. Losses across width at head of spine and up to 5/8". Similar loss at tail of spine and up to 3/8". Front corner at head of spine has a 2" vertical closed tear along front spine fold. Back spine fold has several closed tears along the length and with adjacent horizontal closed tears. Upper edge of back panel has several diagonal tears and scrapes, and upper left corner has a series of diagonal creases. Upper and lower edges are softened in general and with shallow horizontal creases, several closed tears and chips. Inside flaps are intact, no price is shown.
