Carta di 618 rimandi in 8 colonne ( tav. XXV) con tutte le altitudini delle cime e città segnate nei 24 fogli. La mappa del Dufour è basata sulle misurazioni dei cantoni e della Confederazione svizzera e fu costruita negli anni 1845 al 1865 dall'Ufficio Topografico Federale Svizzero sotto la guida di Guillaume Henri Dufour. Le riprese e gli studi originali di questa carta del Dufour furono disegnati in scala 1:25 000 (per la pianura) e 1:50 000 (per le montagne). La pubblicazione è stata edita in scala 1:100 000, per cui il territorio della Svizzera venne realizzato su 25 fogli. Il terreno montuoso venne disegnato, in particolare nella carta del Dufour, con ombre particolari che danno il senso dell'altezza. Questo cosiddetto "stile svizzero" ha ricevuto negli anni del XIX secolo un sacco di elogi e portato l'Ufficio Topografico Federale Svizzero a diversi riconoscimenti internazionali. Autore: Dufour G.
