ABOUT THIS BOOK: As a definitive work of reference, The Cambridge History of Communism brings together the emerging historiography of communism in a large-scale, multi-contributor history of the rise and fall of communism and its interconnection with broader processes of historical change throughout the twentieth-century world. The first volume of The Cambridge History of Communism deals with the tumultuous events from 1917 to the Second World War, such as the Russian Revolution and Civil War, the revolutionary turmoil in post-World War I Europe, and the Spanish Civil War. Leading experts analyse the ideological roots of communism, historical personalities such as Lenin, Stalin, and Trotsky and the development of the Communist movement on a world scale against this backdrop of conflict that defined the period. It addresses the making of Soviet institutions, economy, and society while also looking at mass violence and relations between the state, workers, and peasants. It introduces crucial communist experiences in Germany, China, and Central Asia. At the same time, it also explores international and transnational communist practices concerning key issues such as gender, subjectivity, generations, intellectuals, nationalism, and the cult of personality. The second volume of The Cambridge History of Communism explores the rise of Communist states and movements after World War II. Leading experts analyze archival sources from formerly Communist states to re-examine the limits to Moscow's control of its satellites; the de-Stalinization of 1956; Communist reform movements; the rise and fall of the Sino-Soviet alliance; the growth of Communism in Asia, Africa and Latin America; and the effects of the Sino-Soviet split on world Communism. Chapters explore the cultures of Communism in the United States, Western Europe and China, and the conflicts engendered by nationalism and the continued need for support from Moscow. With the danger of a new Cold War developing between former and current Communist states and the West, this account of the roots, development and dissolution of the socialist bloc is essential reading. The third volume of The Cambridge History of Communism spans the period from the 1960s to the present, documenting the last two decades of the global Cold War and the collapse of Soviet socialism. An international team of scholars analyze the rise of China as a global power continuing to proclaim its Maoist allegiance, and the transformation of the geopolitics and political economy of Cold War conflict in an era of increasing economic interpenetration. Beneath the surface, profound political, social, economic and cultural changes were occurring in the socialist and former socialist countries, resulting in the collapse and transformations of the existing socialist order and the changing parameters of world Marxism. This volume draws on innovative research to bring together history from above and below, including social, cultural, gender, and transnational history to transcend the old separation between Communist studies and the broader field of contemporary history. Kleine Babylon-5-Sammelkarte von Stephen Furst bildseitig mit silbernem Stift signiert, umseitig aufmontierte Notiz von fremder Hand /// Autogramm Autograph signiert signed signee ///Stephen Furst, eigentlich Stephen Nelson Feuerstein, (* 8. Mai 1954[1] in Norfolk, Virginia; ? 16. Juni 2017 mit 63 Jahren an den Folgen seiner Diabetes-Erkrankung /// Standort Wimregal GAD-10.168 WITHIN THE EU: shipping only to GERMANY and AUSTRIA due to the new EPR regulations. Revised Draft script for the 1999 film belonging to an unknown crew member, with an annotation in manuscript ink on front wrapper of a telephone number, and annotations of dialogue changes, in manuscript pencil, on first two pages of script, with many pages creased from dog-ears and/or vertical folds, as is common with working scripts. Bound in, preceding script, is the full six page shooting schedule for August 6 through September 1, 1998, and a nine page "Staff & Crew List." Based on cartoonist Martin Taras' gargantuan baby duck cartoon character, made for Paramount Pictures' Famous Studios in the 1950s, most frequently appearing in Paramount's theatrical shorts "Noveltoons." Directed by and starring Stephen Furst (Flounder from "National Lampoon's Animal House"), the direct-to-video, live-action, children's musical comedy, finds Nick (Michael Angarano) and his friends protecting Baby Huey from the evil scientist Prof. von Klupp (Harvey Korman), and the unscrupulous Las Vegas producer P.T.Wynnsocki (Joseph Bologna). A mostly unseen children's film with an ever-growing adult cult following, featuring performances from Maureen McCormick ("The Brady Bunch"), David L. Lander ("Lavern & Shirley"), John Vernon ("National Lampoon's Animal House), and Laraine Newman ("Saturday Night Live"). Green titled self-wrappers, integral with title page, last revision dated 8/12/98, with credits for screenwriter Matty Simmons. 81 leaves, with last page of text numbered 65. Mimeograph duplication, rectos only, with pink, yellow, and green revision pages throughout, dated variously between 7/31/98 and 8/12/98. Pages Very Good plus with creases from dog-ears and vertical folds and some edgewear on title page, bound with three gold brads.
