First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Schmidt, Edwin (illustrator). 1st Edition. First edition hardcover book, signed and inscribed by author. Great color illustration on front of dj and many drawings throughout by Edwin Schmidt. "Bill Crane, just out of high school and eager for a job, goes on a June fishing trip with his friend, Ducky Davis, to a lake in the Maine wilderness. More important than the bass they catch is the discovery of a 'Caterpillar' D2 tractor, slunk and abandoned . . ." There is a tiny hole at the bottom edge of the front board. Otherwise, the book is in near fine condition. The dj is like new. Rare with author's signature and inscription.
