A novel based on the "Boots and Her Buddies" comic strip, written by the strip's writer and illustrated by the strip's artist. 248 pages, illustrated in b&w. Interior pages browned as usual. Previous owner's name etc to verso of the ffep. Tight, square binding. No wear to the brown cloth boards. The unclipped dustjacket has a bright, cleran front panel and spine. A little wear to the head of the spine. Two internal tape repairs to the rear panel. Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. 1st Edition. Oblong 4to hardcover volume in pictorial paper boards. Book very good with no real faults. End papers not split or marked. Dust jacket good with tear in front and some chipping and small tears on edges. Not clipped. Contents are very good.

Stapled Paper. Condition: Very Good +. B/W Photographs (illustrator). First Edition. These 40 pages are grouped TOGETHER with `Soon We' ll Be Three Years OId'. The latter has 32 pages, and is dated 1936. Page 14 of the `Story' carries a photograph of the men who were appointed as guardians of the Quints - as the Dionnes were not `well-to-do'. (They had five living children before the Quints arrived.) The men in the photo are: Kenneth Morrison, Dr. A.R. Dafoe, Oliver Dionne, W.H. Alderson, and J. McClusky. Lots of b/w photographs of this news phenomenon of the era. Cond : `Story' has a baby blue cover with yellow lettering. `Three Years' has black lettering and an image of a C.R.B.C. radio microphone. Staples have minor wear. `Story' has the name (1940) of a p/o verso front cover. Minimal wear and similar soiling. Decidedly collectible pair ! ! QUote (p. 15 of Three Years') (UNpaginated) : " This is a definite indication that not only do they listen to the Mother Goose stories which their nurses tell them, but they understand them and feel them as a part of their daily lives. In fact, they are eager to hear more of these stories as well as ._._._. . " Size: 8vo.
