Soft cover. Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. (1972 - 1979) Tabloid newspaper format but printed but on much better stock than newsprint. Beginning under the title COMIXSCENE for issues 1 - 6 evolving into MEDIASCENE for issues 7 - 37, then MEDIASCENE PREVUE for issue 38. Issues 5, 10-38 were done in two sections, all issues are complete with both section present. Some issues in the middle of the run are subscriber copies with mailing label still attached or in some cases the label has fallen away leaving an adhesive stain. ALL issues were once folded for mailing but have been stored flat for the past 20+ years. All are original owner copies and probably as nice a set as you can find. The focus on earliest issues is comic art which later expands to film and other media. Packed with lots of rare art by Jim Steranko (naturally) alongside work by the best comic artists of the period: Neil Adams, Jeff Jones, Wrightson, Kaluta, Barry Smith, Vaughn Bode and many, many more. Also included in the lot is THE NEW SUPERGRAPHICS COMIC CATALOG done in similar tabloid format. Judging by content this undated issue is ca 1977. A terrific lot of visual arts produced by the graphic virtuoso Steranko. BONUS: 10 later issues of PREVUE included in the lot; little handled VG-FINE copies.
