Condition: Fair. A guide to some of the world's most fascinating places, as seen and experienced by writer, television host, and relentlessly curious traveler Anthony BourdainAnthony Bourdain saw more of the world than nearly anyone. His travels took him from the hidden pockets of his hometown of New York to a tribal longhouse in Borneo, from cosmopolitan Buenos Aires, Paris, and Shanghai to Tanzania's utter beauty and the stunning desert solitude of Oman's Empty Quarter--and many places beyond. In World Travel, a life of experience is collected into an entertaining, practical, fun and frank travel guide that gives readers an introduction to some of his favorite places--in his own words. Featuring essential advice on how to get there, what to eat, where to stay and, in some cases, what to avoid, World Travel provides essential context that will help readers further appreciate the reasons why Bourdain found a place enchanting and memorable.Supplementing Bourdain's words are a handful of essays by friends, colleagues, and family that tell even deeper stories about a place, including sardonic accounts of traveling with Bourdain by his brother, Christopher; a guide to Chicago's best cheap eats by legendary music producer Steve Albini, and more. Additionally, each chapter includes illustrations by Wesley Allsbrook. For veteran travelers, armchair enthusiasts, and those in between, World Travel offers a chance to experience the world like Anthony Bourdain.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. Very nice example of this out of print catalogue of the artist Ed Paschke. Aprox 110 pages in oblong format, its filled with rich color illustrations which thrive in the elongated framework. Overall very solid copy. Binding is tight, solid, sturdy, square. Interior is bright, clean, free of any marks or damage. Dustjacket has a noticeable chip on the front panel and 3-4 noticeable thin, horizontal scratches on the back panel. Throughout there is some stray creasing, rubbing and scuffing - particularly about the edges - but overall still attractive and well intact.

Condition: Very good overall. First Edition. Legendary musician, record engineer, and World Series of Poker winner Steve Albini's copies of David Sklansky's foundational works of poker theory and strategy. Most famous for his work as an engineer and producer (though he rejected this term) on such classic alternative albums as the Pixies' SURFER ROSA (1988), PJ Harvey's RID OF ME (1993), and (most importantly) Nirvana's IN UTERO (1993), as well as for founding the influence band Big Black, Albini was also an accomplished poker player. He twice won World Series of Poker bracelets (2018, stud; and 2022, H.O.R.S.E.) and played regularly, both in his native Chicago and - as attested to by the plane ticket laid into one of the books offered here - Las Vegas. A great association: one of rock's best minds learning from one of poker's best. Two volumes; 8.5'' x 5.5''. Original color pictorial wrappers, both. SMALL STAKES HOLD 'EM: First printing/edition. $24.95 cover price. xii, 372 pages. Some creasing to covers, spine, with some bumping. Small sticker to rear cover. Overall sound. Loosely laid in is Albini's 2012 order receipt for the book and signed certificate from the Albini estate. SEVEN CARD STUD: Fourth edition, third printing. $29.95 cover price. x, 336 pages. Some creasing to spine. Minor edgewear. Loosely laid in is Albini's US Airways plane ticket stub (Chicago to Las Vegas) bookmark and signed certificate from the Albini estate.
