One silver gelatin photograph sized 7 x 5 in. mounted on Oblong 4to. 10 x 8 in. embossed black studio board, w/ annotations in pencil on verso (very slight bumping to couple corners, minor shelfwear), still NF exemplar. A very scarce original mounted silver gelatin photograph of a Gambrinus Brewing Co. delivery truck, with Bottle Beers and the brewery advertising painted on the side panels, with bottles and wooden cases festooning the upper section of the rear. Founded originally by Feurer (b. 1840), a Bavarian-American immigrant who in 1875 first established Gambrinus Brewery at the corner of 22nd & Flanders in Portland, OR, the company would operate continually until 1916 prior to World War I, and implementation of Prohibition. Gambrinus was one of more than 25 successful breweries operating in Portland at the beginning of the 20th Century, and were known for their Bock Beer, Select, Knickerbocker Lager, and Royal Pilsner. Following the repeal of prohibition, there was an attempt to revive the brewery with Al's Special Beer, Beaver State Beer, Old Pioneer Club Beer, and Rose City Beer.
