Soft cover. Condition: As New. 1st Edition. 1st Printing. 50 pages. Published in 2022. Exhibition Catalog. Memorial collection of photographs. The best introduction to the photographic art and achievement of Robert Stiegler for our time. The first and only edition. Published in a small and limited print run as a softcover original only. None of the copies was commercially sold. There is no ISBN. The Exhibition Catalog is now scarce. A brilliant production by Stephen Daiter Gallery: Oversize-volume format. Pictorial softcovers with white titles on the cover, as issued. Photographs and Brief Afterword by Robert Stiegler. Essays by Stephen Daiter and Wayne Boyer. Printed on pristine-white, very thick coated stock paper in the United States to the highest standards. The reproduction quality is outstanding in every respect, one of the best books ever published by Stephen Daiter Gallery. Without DJ, as issued. Published on the occasion of the landmark retrospective exhibition by Stephen Daiter Gallery Chicago in 2022. Presents "Robert Stiegler: Photographs". His ground-breaking, masterly work, captured in one handsome volume. It is formally rigorous yet highly experimental work whose underlying, near-obsessive thread is the complex interaction between light and shadow, particularly its infinite possibilities. Stiegler received his Bachelor's Degree in 1960 and his Master's Degree in 1970 from the Institute of Design (ID), where he studied under Harry Callahan and Aaron Siskind. He was part of a now-iconic group of photographers who include Barbara Crane, Kenneth Josephson, Tom Rago, and Richard Nickel. Robert Stiegler died before his time in 1990 at the age of fifty-two. So it's a blessing that his work is in the Permanent Collections of the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) New York, the Art Institute of Chicago, the George Eastman House, the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) Chicago, and the University of Illinois Chicago. An absolute "must-have" title for Robert Stiegler collectors. This title is now collectible. As far as we know, this is the only copy available online and is in especially fine condition: Clean, crisp, and bright. Please note: This is the best introduction to Robert Stiegler's work. None of the limited number of copies was sold commercially. A scarce copy thus. Lavishly illustrated with black-and-white plates. One of the most brilliant American photographers of the 20th century. A fine copy. (SEE ALSO OTHER INSTITUTE OF DESIGN PHOTOGRAPHERS IN OUR CATALOG). no.
