Hardback. Condition: V.g. xxxi, [i], 391pp,; 11 fine hand-coloured plates of grass plants at the rear. Original full polished calf with gilt dec. spine and red morocco label. Spine intact but with a long lengthways crack. Contents and text block tight and clean with a beautiful set of plates by Miller and Price. Joints cracked but sound with original marbled end-papers. Owners name to the head of the title-page rather roughly erased.

Soft cover. Condition: Poor. 1st Edition. Miscellaneous Tracts Relating To Natural History, Husbandry, And Physick ~ Translated from the Latin, with Notes. By Benj. Stillingfleet; pub by R & J Dodsley, London 1759. 1st Edition. Faded green paper covers, (look like this could have been a proof copy?), semi disintegrated on the spine; 8vo, xxxii pps + 230 pps - last page notes The End . There is a Contents page on xxxi; no Illustrations are noted and none are in the book. NB - all pps have been collated and are intact. Paper is quite a heavy type, uncut on side & bottom edges; it is quite heavy and seems to be a bit coarse? There is spasmodic foxing through book ; many corner pps are turned up, especially the bottom corners; book is in a slight scruffy state, although all pps are easily readable. I have not been able to find a 1st Edition copy dated 1759 for sale or available on Google or other book sites that sell books, so assume that this a very scarce copy of this books - please correct me if Im wrong. e&oe.

Old full leather binding with wear mainly to the edges. Staining to pages throughout. Browning to end papers from contact with the leather in the binding. ESTC T81085. Book.

Owners' names on front end paper & title page; end papers foxed, with some foxing on early pages; last few pages of text, & 1st plates, a little browned. Original brown calf on boards worn at corners; rebacked in darker leather, with gilt title & rules. With 11 plates (line drawings of grasses). Used - Good. Good hardback.
