Text by horror master Stephen King (pgs 7-35) is followed by duotone & fu…ll-color photographs by f-Stop Fitzgerald for the remainder of the 128 pages; 2 color ones in center fold out into triptychs. A FIRST EDITION, First Printing, from 1988, this oversized hardcover is in Fine condition in a VG+ unclipped DJ, the latter downgraded due to a 3" vertical scrape across center of front cover (gargoyle's forehead) & a few scratches/rubbed areas to bottom-outer corner of same. Book has matte black cloth-covered boards with blindstamped title on front cover & silver lettering to spine. Completely clean & bright, pages white & unmarked (remainder mark to bottom outside edges of text block), corners crisp, binding strong & square. Light rubbing to extremities with some wear to corners, some wear to spine ends of 2e Serie, its front hinge cracked, front joint of 3e Serie just starting at head. Light toning and occasional light foxing to texts, faint early owner stamps to front wrappers. $350. * First issues. Moinaux was a notable French writer, playwright and librettist. Written over several years, his humourous accounts of trials in the criminal courts of Paris appeared in such publications as La Gazette des Tribunaux and Le Charivari. Embellished with witty illustrations by Stop, Les Tribunaux Comiques are illustrated collections of these pieces. He published five volumes, the first in 1882, the last in 1894. Each is complete in itself and bibliographically distinct.
