Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. Manuscript. TWO original carbon copies of the author's published book of the same title. 170 one-sided pages plus 178 one-sided pages. Several additional pages are present, one of them being a further note, hand-written, referencing John & Dr. George T. Pomeroy. One of these two manuscripts has heavy editing with a pen. A superficial comparison suggests that the second manuscript included these corrections and additions. The second manuscript also includes a few more edited notes and also a Foreword by his son. On the first manuscript he notes it is 48,000 words long, and the second MS is 47,000 words long. A thick card, 5 1/2" x 7 1/2" contains on both sides the author's handwritten notes about illustrations & where they will go in the book. The author's nickname was "Rawhide Shorty." He was an artist & was referred to as "Spokane's Painter of Western Scenes." In a 1960 True West article he talks about working cattle with Charley Russell. Good condition both manuscripts. BONUS: The buyer will also receive with these manuscripts another set of manuscripts totaling around 100 pages. This set includes most of Stork's 1962 book of stories, Told Around the Campfire. It is not complete. About half of them are type script and about half are handwritten by Stork. There is included in these @ 100 pps some other material that is not complete, including an original, handwritten poem.
