First edition of this very scarce anthology of the Charlie Chaplin's Comic Capers strip which was intended by Donohue to be used as a colouring book, with colour instructions at the beginning. this work was issued in Donohue in two different versions, one with 20 pp., and the other with 32 pp. Chicago-based Essanay studios lured Chaplin away from Keystone Film Co. by offering him an unprecedented $ 1250.00 per week, and he made over 14 silent films with them, including the famed "The Tramp." The studio closed in 1918, and Chaplin left to join the Mutual Film Corporation.
