Dust jacket with color pictorial front panel; some soiling and light staining; spine panel toned; shallow chipping, creasing, and several tears at edges; front flap is not price-clipped; past owner's ink name stamp at bottom of rear flap; dj now presented in a mylar Brodart protector. Blue boards; slight scuffing at spine ends. Past owner's ink name stamp on front and rear free endpapers; interior pages are otherwise clean. Binding is firm. With 21 b/w illustrations (including frontispiece) of which twenty are on unpaged leaves (final drawing is a tailpiece on page 404) with most specifically signed "Church" [Frederick Stuart Church] or "W.H. Beard" [William Holbrook Beard] but curiously the dj front flap credits Milo Winter as illustrator but his signature is not found in the book's few uncredited illustrations.…
