Bound in black cloth with titles and illustration in red on spine, Crime Club logo on front board. Square and tight with mild page toning. Off-setting to end-papers. Heavy rubbing to boards as pictured. Spine mildly toned. Very attractive unclipped dust jacket, ($2.00), has a couple of tiny nicks. Some rubbing to edges and spine ends and tips. Still fresh and bright and presents quite well and is very uncommon in any condition. Inscribed and signed by the author, with a small pen sketch, on the front end-paper, " For Gene + Shirley + Tina, with all best wishes of their ex-master ---- and (I hope short), ex-author --. Stuart Palmer". A very presentable, collectable copy, and though not terribly uncommon, signed copies of any Stuart Palmer title are quite scarce. Signed by Author(s).

Later fine binding by Stuart Brockman, covers with grid of straight gilt rules with four goatskin onlay circles in green, yellow, blue and red at points where the grid intersects, around a central band of gilt lightly applied allowing the grain of the skin to show through beneath and with tree forms outlined in silhouette, spine lettered likewise, paste paper end leaves, binders ticket to front free endpaper, with original green cloth drop back box, spine lettered in black on gold coloured label.
