This is an interesting read which includes a variety of topics (overland travel, Santa Fe Trail, wagon trains, Indian fights, experiences on the Plains, etc. Graff 4023, Howes S1108, Mintz 606, Rittenhouse 543, Stullken served with the Wisconsin Battery, Light Artillery, 1861-65. His unit went from Ft. Leavenworth up the Platte and to Denver, then down to Fort Union. Later he saw service along the Mountain Branch of the Santa Fe Trail to Bents Fort and east to Council Grove.
