Extremely rare biography of Abdulaziz bin Abdul Rahman Al Saud (1876-1953), founder and first monarch of Saudi Arabia, bearing a portrait of the King on the front cover. The book quotes Kenneth Williams's 1933 biography "The Puritan King of Arabia" along with Harry St John Bridger Philby's travel records "The Heart of Arabia" (1922). - Only four library copies worldwide, at NYU Abu Dhabi, the National Library of Israel, Haifa University, and Hartford International University for Religion and Peace in Hartford, Connecticut. - Marginal pencil annotations to pp. 34f. Wrappers somewhat soiled; occasional small marginal tears. - OCLC 784938657.

    Soft cover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Fair. Original brown printed wraps with jacket affixed at the spine featuring a full-length b/w photo portrait of Ibn Saud 12x17cm. Printed on economy wartime paper. 160pp Arabic text. Inscribed and dated 21/11/41 in Arabic to the front wrap, possibly by the author, who was Editor-in-Chief of the Literary Supplement of Egyptian youth newspaper Al Fatat. Jacket and wraps good only, with a little loss and archival tape reinforcements to the spine and hinges. Interiors tanned, generally very good apart from translucent archival tape repairs to the final leaf partially impacting text. This appears to be rare with Worldcat locating 4 copies (OCLC 784938657: NYU Abu Dhabi, Hartford International University, National Library of Israel, University of Haifa). This is the 5th in a 20 volume series of biographies entitled "Leaders of the East". The series also included Fuad, Al Baroudi, and Zaghloul of Egypt, the Shah of Iran, Faisal and Ghazi of Iraq, Gandhi, Nehru, Chiang Kai Shek, Muhammad Ibn Abd Al Wahhab, Hajj Amin al-Husseini, among others.
