A circular relating to the farming of cranberries. In particular it focuses on undermining prevalent idea that cranberries can only be grown in bogs, and instead, asserts that they can be grown in "dry soil". It also provides information on the cranberry such as its agricultural history, average yield in bushels, and testimonials from the New York Farmers' Club on the author's, Sullivan Bates, ability to supply cranberry plants to farmers and backing his assertion that they can be grown on dry soil. This circular was a folded, stampless mailing to Samuel Whitman of West Hart[ford], CT. Single page circular. OCLC 1 (March 2021). Measures 5 1/2" x 3 1/2" (folded), 19 1/4" x 11" (unfolded).
