Hardcover. Condition: New. 184 pages, colour illustrations : 29 cm. text in French. A completely adapted reworking of the original French 1950 volume by Le Sabretache, this edition is 184pp., 4to, colour uniform plates throughout with English captions, English/French table of uniform colour terminology. 2016. This famous study h…as been the standard work on the Russian Napoleonic Army s uniforms. Several years ago we produced a fine facsimile as a hand-crafted publication. Now modern printing opportunities allow us to produce this new edition. How best to handle the material, Stephen and I thought. Well, it has not been possible to translate all of the original French text, but instead Stephen has concentrated upon the essential element of the book the uniform plates. These have been made more useable by splitting into logical new plate sections, properly indexed for ease of identification, and all colour shades translated in a special glossary of terms. The result is a spectacular, beautiful study of the principal uniforms of all arms, with 50 colour plates as well as numerous additional text illustrations.
