Condition: Good. Copenhagen, L. Benedictus, 1590. 4:o. (*6),A4-O4 = (62) leaves. Mid 19th-century marbled boards with MS label. Blue edges, colouring partly affecting the outer margins. With a few notes and corrections in ink, traces of erased signature on title, slight soiling on the first leaves. A fine copy.Nielsen 1061. Thesaurus 182. Warmholtz 8140. Published by the historian Arild Huitfeldt. Since the work was rare already in the 18th century, it was reprinted in 1745 in Joachim von Westphalens "Monumenta inedita". Warmholtz calls the work a translation of Skånelagen (the law of Scania, at this time a part of Denmark, and since 1658 the southermost part of Sweden), but in reality it is a revision of Scanic law in latin, possibly made from the same source material as Skånelagen. The author, who is more often known under his Danish name form, Andreas Sunesen, was archbishop of Lund in the beginning of the 13th century.
