MacDougall explains in the Preface this is intended to bridge the gap between the needs of the park biologists making surveys of plants and the needs of the more casual visitor trying to identify what they see. The drawings are by Mr. Barton A. Wright, Curator of the Museum of Northern Arizona. Features a number of color photographic reproductions, black and white photos as well as a few pages of line drawings.
