Ninth impression, hardcover, has a slight lean to the binding, which has a crack beginning at the second to last end page, where related newspaper clippings have been pasted in. The book also has bumps with fraying to the cloth at the spine ends and cover corners, rubbing with light staining to the covers, sun toning to the spine, and a previous owner's information penciled to the second free end page. Overall, a Good only copy.

This is the First US edition in English translation stated fourth printing June, 1928. Fair dark orange cloth with spine ends badly chipped. Pages 251 turning brown and fragile from age. Albert Londres, detailing his undercover investigation into the white slave trade (la traite des blanches) in Argentina. Published first in France 1927, by Albin Michel, the book was ".a controversial and powerful exposé that served as both a travelogue and a damning document on international crime, revealing the dark side of Buenos Aires and the global human trafficking network.".

Dw. is unclipped, chipped, rubbed with some tears, no serious loss.
